Are all these companies that are involved with this bid providing proof to the city that they are not hiring illegal immigrants ? Is someone checking their certification of employment and documents for the US ?
There is a house being built 2 doors down from us and Border Patrol was there yesterday. I am only assuming, but they appear to be doing some checking around here. I was also told that there are now 2 Border Patrols stationed here in Williston.
Why does the city of Williston and the County of Williams and the state of North Dakota allow employers to hire illegal immigrant Workers. There needs to be local laws that require business's to hire only people that can provide proof of citizen ship. ITS THE LAW ! You will have the same problems the REST of America has supporting them... They are paying them under the table so they pay no taxes ! Green card or social security number folks.
Your local government can set the laws for employment, and I don't want to hear YOU CANT get people to work !!.. That is not gonna fly for allowing illegals to work here. Get a green card and come play !! no card no work !! Also, Why does the local government allow people to "live in their pickups and cars and vans" Folks !! trust me, you don't want that !! its a health issue, a saftey issue ... to say the least. Get the folks who represent YOU in the government jobs or VOTE them OUT !
Any contractor who does work for the federal government HAS to adhere to the use of I-9's and not allowed to hire illegals.. why should state and local governments not be held to the same standards ? Who at the City and County would have this answer for us ? I'll be the first to call and email and bang on the doors to get answers.
