there just aren't many "active issues" going in Williston.  We could talk about the latest news from the Herald.  Hockey Coaches anyone?  We could talk about property taxes.  Not much of an argument there...in my mind.

So what shall we discuss today?   We could talk more about ethical issues we face as a country.  Anyone interested in discussing gay marriage?

How about religious themes?  How about you "end of times" theorists?  See any links from todays headlines?

Heard any good conspiracy theories lately?

How about predicitions on how far Brent Quale will go in his football career?  Compare his size and ability to those who were drafted this year....especially in the first two rounds.

Speaking of which, any NFL draft comments?  Did your team do well?  How about you fantasy football minds?  Comments for next season?

Any good memories or stories to share on past athletes that have come through this area and have gone on to have very successful careers?

Lots of stuff to talk about, not necessarily Willston related.  C'mon, let's talk!!

Nice try Steve!  I am all for it.  I think a number of people are left with a bad taste in their mouth since the Shayla/jeremy thing.  It is very unfortunate because they both had points worth discussing.

It continues to disappoint me, because...in a nutshell....it just underscores how behind the curve we are here in Williston.  Not just on this sort of forum but on so many levels.  You and those of like mind are trying to turn that around, and it is disturbing that the leaders and educated citizens of the community will not utilize this forum or build another site like it to serve similar purpose.

I am trying hard not to politicize this post, but it is oh, so very true that one of the reasons the democrats are so far ahead of us more conservative people is that they know how to communicate with the greater population...particularly the younger generations that are now moving into positions to run this great country.
Obama and his team were, and are, experts at this.  That is definitely one thing they got right.

Honest discussion, blunt or otherwise should be encouraged not discouraged.
People who cannot win an argument using logic and persuasiveness and then tend to simply shout to get their point across, or worse, just take their ball and go home...need to be slapped.  Debate is good stuff.  If you get out-debated...then you should just admit it, then go on to the next one.  If you put your foot in your mouth, honestly, then just admit it, apologize and move on to the next one. None of us are perfect.

I think Jeremy, Shayla, and the other supersensitive former posters, are doing not only themselves a great disservice, but also the community and region.

Now somebody can come get me....  I'm good for it.  However, remember what it is that I do for fun....and that I am pretty good at it...  ;o)
