RE: ACORN

The current state of affairs with ACORN should not come as a surprise to anyone...

don't make it no more palatable though.

Isn't this just a dandy bunch of people?  It is a Special Interest Group.  It now just has to go away.    Any Special Interest Group should go away..with the Lawyer's  and Maybe this Country could get back on track.  If you are a Special Interest Group - Raise your own Money and Quit looking at the Government for Hand Out's.

Noooooooooooo, I missed that completely! Wow. Nooooooo...we definitely don't need agencies registering people to vote and telling them HOW to vote!

Yeah....the concept is sound....no question, but when you have one group totally controlling it, and getting financial support from the government to boot....not fair.

Did not mean to sound condescending, sorry if it appeared that way....

I don't think Acorn is a bunch of crooks. I think the way they manage is just really bad. When their purpose is to register as many new voters as possible, that is a GOOD thing. However, when they hire just anyone off the street to go out and do this for them, and then pay them by the number of people that they register, that's where the crooks come in. Naturally, a certain percentage of those hired will be dishonest people who will make up names or do just about anything to get paid for doing nothing. I don't for a moment believe that ACORN condones this, wanted it to happen, or encouraged it in any way.

Because of this, ACORN has a really bad reputation. I'm not sure that they will ever recover from this rep. I guess they could change the way they manage, but we'll see.

We DO need agencies to get out and register new voters. It is sad to see the percentage of citizens who actually vote.

Did you watch their leadership on television telling everyone how "We have GOT to get Barack Obama elected as President of this Country"?   I did.  That is NOT right. And as far as I am concerned...their credibility went straight south right then.

...and now they are fixing to get a bunch of my money (and yours).... hah!.

I just watched an interview with one of the top spokesman from ACORN about them being involved in the Censes (sp) Why did they get some of the bailout money when they are all crooks.  Dodd does not hold a candle next to this slippery snake.
