I've heard the "not electable" thought before too.  Never could quite understand the concept.  If you believe in someone and what they stand for or at least for the most part, you should follow that instinct.  Otherwise, why the heck do I keep cheering for the Vikings every year.

Because you and my Husband need a reason to Whine.   Alot.biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

I'm not really sure what other people's definition of "not electable" is.

I believe that while elections should be based on the issues and the candidates record, that's only a small part of it in reality. It takes movie star quality charisma and a huge team of absolute geniuses running the campain and fundraising. It may be that these last two things carry even more weight than the first two, (although no one would ever admit it when talking about who they voted for and why).

The number one thing that most Americans care about is their wallet and what's in it. From the moment that I heard Obama say that he would give a tax break to 95% of Americans and only raise taxes on the top 5% of wage earners, while McCain stood by his theory that only the small businesses should get tax breaks, I knew that Obama would win. He'd just won over 95% of the country on the number 1 issue that they care about. He didn't get 95% of the vote for various reasons.............other issues, racism, party loyalty, etc. But, in my opinion, there was no way that McCain could win after that.

As far as the others being "not electable", I just don't think they had the campain teams and fund raising teams to bring them to the forefront so that their opinions of the issues could be taken seriously by enough people. In the end, they lacked the movie star quality charisma because of it.

early on....I watched some of his stuff...and in a lot of ways I would agree with you; the problem was more that there was no way in heck I thought he could get elected.  Same with Huckabee, and to a degree Mitt R....I really felt John McCain had a chance, and I still think he could have won if the rest of us would have pulled together and reallysupported him.  But.....hindsight is always 20/20 and all that...

I walked into that one Jeremy.  I do like some of his ideas, just not all of them.  What I should have said, was, that despite liking some of his ideas, in the entire package of deciding who to vote for, McCain came out ahead.

Listen to yourself Randy.

You like him, you like his Ideas....  no way he can get elected.

Bad, can not do attitude.

He can get elected.  But all of us that think he is a difference maker need to tell others
