That article is ridiculous.  And the people who are posting their confirmations that ND/Republican states ARE the most corrupt are idiots.  Just another example of a biased media outlet trying to find a way to take statistics and slant them in their favor.

First question, what are the convictions?  Are they at a personal or a political level?  Second question, what are our convictions per official compared to other states?  Third question, what is the magnitude of those convictions at a political level?  I mean honestly, could they seriously be trying to campare what's happening in states like Illinois and New York or New Jersy to North Dakota?  Gimme a break.

More media bias in my opinion.

ps..vko, you mean a nod, a wink, and a fat check. biggrin

Maybe it just shows we actually do something about our corrupt people in positions instead of a nod and a wink.

ok, well the article is completely based on convictions per capita(number of people in the state). North Dakota only having 639,715 inhabitants(number probably pulled from census figures) and there being 55 convictions regarding regulators/public officials and based per 100,000 means it doesnt take alot to make the numbers look big.

kinda like back in 96 or 97 when it was reported that the murder rate in North dakata was up 600% because there were 6 murders and the year before there was 1.

The other thing to remember, it stats, and people can make stats/charts/data show whatever they want, it all depends on how the data is manipulated.

your article is here for referance:

I all of the corruption coming out of Illinois has lights shining everywhere but where they should be!!  I don't know who did this study or why but our great state of North Dakota came out as the Number One state with the most corrupt government.  How is this possible?  Who and when have any of our politicans been convicted of any crime?  I'm so confused not to mention outraged by this so called "finding"!!  We have had the same Senator's for years and just relected Govenor Hoven...what and where is this corruption that makes us number 1 in the Nation?  Is no one else outraged by this!!  And if we are so corrupt...why don't we know about it?!  Someone please, explaine this to me!!  omg.gif
