P.S. Call Mon-dak humane society or on line.. We just had a dog walk with them - it was great - and my Husband and I donated to their cause. They are good to work with. I did not mean that my husband won't let me help anymore - he just will not let me take in more strays anymore..
Thank you SKM- It just breaks my heart when i see those lost dogs wondering around. I to try to do my best when i can actually catch one. Last weekend we found a puppy and I called the police station so that if someone was looking for her they could contact me. When i called the police station I asked if there was anyone else I should contact and she said no that if you find a lost animal the police will take care of it. She then asked if i would like someone to come pick up the dog but i said no that i would keep her till her owns called, the owners were so happy to find that someone had found their dog and took her in. I hate to not do anything I worry about them getting run over or wondering further from home and getting lost.
I am one of those who really hasn't noticed. Guess I'm too worried about keeping my own little stinker out of the neighbor's cabbage patch. I'm not positive but I don't think we have a shelter for dogs or cats. I think we have what is considered "foster homes". I know the Human Society is great about helping those who take in strays, and abused animals. And Honey, I do think that is due to lack of housing that does not allow pets. I'm very thankful that my landlord allows my dog to say. We pay 50 dollars a month more for having him, but its well worth it. Our dog is part of our family. Heck, half the time I think he thinks hes human, if you know what I mean. Thank you for putting me on notice about the strays. I will keep a better eye out now and help where and when I can.
I have also in the country side. Like they were left. How Sad. Went and looked for a stray or lost dog standing in the middle of the Highway.. Heard about it but I could not find him when I went to the spot. At least take them to a Shelter or put them down. Either way it is better for them. I already have 4 dogs.. But I live on a farm...but my dogs are still in a fenced yard. Husband won't let me help any more.
Has anyone else noticed all the dogs roaming walking around town, most with no collars. Just this last week ive seen 3 dogs around my house looking lost, dirty, & skinny, I was able to get one dog in my house and find its owner but im just curious do you think its because of all the new people moving to town or am i the only one who has noticed this problem?
