I agree with Vicki, Mrs Kraft was my favorite teacher. I got in her Freshman English class, and was SCARED to death of her. That didn't last long. She had interesting ways of teaching, she liked to push you as she knew what you were capable of. I was actually hoping to get her for Senior english, and I got my wish. I don't remember who was in there except for Dawn Hanson, Laurene Christenson, Maybe Tyler J and Jimmy ? Last I heard she was in Bismarck, but that was shortly after we graduated. Keep those funny stories coming!!

I remember that, but until today I had no idea what she was saying. That's absolutely hilarious!!

Yes, I remember that! That was too funny if you ask me....calling her bluff!
Here another favorite from the Kraft class... Do you remember Veronica, the foreign exchange student from Sweden? We had to do a demostration speech with a partner. We were "dermatologist" with a new face cream made up of crap from the kitchen along with some lotion. We put it on Wade Williamsons' face and all the while, Vernoica is speaking in Swedish while I was the "interpreter". Veronica was cursing like a sailor in her native language calling us all bad names, scolding us for not drinking enough beer on the weekends. I had to act like I knew what she was saying and drive that speech home. And what did we get? A+ my friend! That was the best time this once shy girl had delivering a speech.

Hey Vicki!!!! Great to have you here!! It will be great to catch up with you when you're here next summer.
You just brought back a ton of memories. One in particular though.
Remember Shakespere? Remember when I was asking you (you sat in front of me) to repeat something Mrs. Kraft had said and I ended up getting in trouble for it? Hmmm??? Remember that???
Remember what happened next? Well, in case you forgot, Mrs Kraft thought I was screwing around (imagine that ) and asked if I wanted to come up front and teach class. Feeling that her beef with me was unjustified, I gladly accepted her challenge.
Soooo, I came up front and began teaching...of all things...Shakespere!! I must have been up there for 5 minutes when I looked up and caught Mrs. Kraft talking out of line with Jody Peterson.
Remember what happened next? I asked Mrs. Kraft if she wanted to come up front and teach class!!! And I wouldn't have had my second favorite high school story to tell without you there in front of me.
So, Vicki, THANKS!!! You'll forever be a part of my fondest high school memories.

I can't believe its been almost 20 years! I was one of those no-shows at the 10 year but I am planning on attending the 20 year reunion. 1987 had an awesome website and that would be great if someone *cough not me* could get that together.
I was one of many oilfield kids that moved back and forth to Williston during my childhood and always considered Williston my home. I have great memories of my childhood, Wilkenson Elementary, running around the neighborhood with Tanya, Mica, Michelle, Heather, Dawn and Stacy. Leaving in third grade and then returning to Williston in 10th grade was a challenge. All the old friends had new ones and it was hard to find out where I fit in. I look back and laugh at how shy I was, compared to the grown up me, never thinking people even knew my name back then. In the end, I found some great lasting friends.
Does anyone know where Mrs. Kraft is now days? I had to wait my entire school career to find my favorite teacher. Many would disagree, but she influenced me inside and outside the classroom that year.
Steve, we've come along way from that English class!
Oh! By the way, my daughters favorite shirt to wear to Jr. High School? The COYOTES ' 89 black t-shirt with all of our names printed on it that was sold as a fund raiser for the Seniors.
Retro is cool.
That's us. Retro.

If the Coyote Foundation is willing to pay for the site and the software I could probably come up with something. We may have other geeky classmates like me that have this stuff though. If you know anyone else ask them. Otherwise, I'd give it a shot.

I loved the 87 site also! I recognized almost everybody there..with just some slight changes. Good, good, GOOD idea to set it up with current pictures! Steve, wanna get going on one for us???? I have some great HS pictures I could send you..... Can't wait to see some of the class of 88 this summer, does anyone know if there is a site for that class? Then our big one after that. I like Shawna's ideas...My opinion on our 20th is to keep it low key, include a golf outing please, and some food and drink, and a place where we can take our kids to meet other kids. That is if I will be able to drag my 16 year old with me, ( he will be almost 18 then) he will think that is so blah....... It doesn't have to be anything fancy or formal or special.
Had to check out that site!!! Funny as hell but yeah...Steve I felt the same way!! But until seeing those picts I forgot all about those people!! I always thought Clark was oh so cute.... how did I forget that? Ha, ha,ha!! I guess memory really does fade!!! Nice to see them again tho! Thanks Shawna for telling us about the site!!! Remember how the Seinors and Juniors totally Ruled!! LOL!!! Makes me laugh now. Those Brutes....LOL!!
WOW! Thanks for the link. For some reason, even though I'm 37 I still feel like such an underclassman when I look at those pics. I think the homecoming float trashing when we were freshmen gave me a complex.
I'm guessing the class of '87 had events for families early in the day and events just for the classmates later on. Perhaps we can set something up at a park during the day and go with your idea of somewhere remote later on like Paradise Point or a farm out of town. Or....we could just meet in Las Vegas. I'd prolly have to bring my wife to Vegas though too, huh?
Well, let's keep the dialogue going. If you know email addy's to anybody in our class that lives out of town send them a link to this site and have them chime in. I could actually setup another message board strictly for our reunion if that would help.

Here's the webpage I was talking about earlier...if anything it's kinda fun to see all the "upperclassmen" 20 years later...I recognized most shocked at a few!
Considering the numbers we had at our 10 year, I'd be all for a combo. Besides, if we did that maybe we could combo 89/90 the following year too!! Then we could both have reunions 2 years in a row!!
Great idea, Mica!

Unfortunately living this far away from Williston I don't think I can be of much help to get things planned, however I would offer my opinions. Go figure huh! Oh, and Vegas sounds AWESOME!!
Is there anyone in town that has a farm or family farm that we could do a barn dance or something a little less formal than a formal banquet room? It would be fun to roast a pig, have some kegs, maybe a dj and a little karaoke. I don't know what the catering situation is like in Williston at this point either.
Tammy Rossland forwarded the website for the Class of 87 reunion, perhapse we could get some ideas from it...I think Karen Altenberg Krenz may have helped plan theirs. The website was awesome. Is there anyone that may have website building experience? One thing we have going for us is the Alumni book that just came out not too long ago. I didn't get one but my mom did and it's a great resource for contacting people. That will be the biggest challenge I'm sure is finding people.
I would be willing to do what I can from this far from home. I will forward this site to Cory and Jodie Hanson, I keep in touch with Jodie "kinda regularly" if that makes sense. Oh and Sandy Adolf Vettle too.....Maybe we could form a committee with at least a couple of locals on the committee....one thing if we start early maybe it won't be such a burden on our already full plates!
lol...don't worry...I've seen pictures so I won't be too surprised.
You GOTTA come to the reunion. I'll be pushing all of the old posse hard to get back here. Man, I miss those days.

Wow! 20 years? I still remember weighing in at 160 lbs soaking wet 20 years ago. These days? Well, if I'm at the 20 year, you'll see. Vegas would be cool though. "Williston High School Graduating Class of 1989 will meet in Las Vegas, Nevada July 4th, 5th and 6th." NIIICE!
I'm just curious how many of you guys are planning on coming to our 20 year. I'm going to consider myself exempt from the planning committee since I've already got my plate full until then but I'd be willing to help if needed.
Who's going to be in charge of getting this thing put together?
Perhaps we could throw around some ideas. If you know of any other of our classmates that could get in on this discussion on our board go ahead and give them in invite.
Perhaps we could meet in Las Vegas!? Or not.
