Romney cited cutting funding to PBS as ONE of his examples on our debt control.
He likes Big Bird, but does not want to borrow in an effort to fund him.
Now my questions:
When Sesame Street was created - was it non profit?
Where do the profits from the gamut of products due to the characters go?
Is there an estimate from the revenue raised from Sesame Street?
PBS also has shows such as Clifford, Berenstein Bears...only viewed on PBS or per purchased video/book. Exclusive? Profits?
PBS does fund raising from the public with a multitude of corporate sponsors. Many places offer employee match for donation.
Why not run the commercial for Proctor and Gambel? They do mention many corporations constantly.
Could this entitiy of television still vet through their sponsors/ads, survive and control the purity of what they want?
