Long story short, the dude that wanted this league didn't listen to my advice. He tucked tail and ran.
Mr. Fred Douglas and I will be putting together a much, much better situation. We are starting from the ground up.
Here is what I will be proposing.
a. Setup admin office with officers
b. Setup by-laws
c. Setup budget
d. Individual cities will be franchises that will pay somewhere in the neighborhood of $1500 annually to make the league run.
e. Funds for each team will come from sponsors.
f. Each team will be locally owned. Must become Chamber Members.
g. Players will spend time in the community. Example would be as youth league officials, coaches, etc...
h. Find a way to pay back sponsors, season ticket holders, vendors, etc.. from last year.
I expect to spend some time with Coach Douglas, the coaches from Minot, and our representatives in Bismarck soon to get the ball rolling on this. Any help (Zach Waitman in Dickinson ) getting this going would be tremendously appreciated.
