This was our concern with Menards. The city provided no clear plan how to keep traffic off of our private road, and the traffic from Menards would have been less than a football field away from our house. Unfortuately they do not think about the concern with current structures and take what they want.
Someone mentioned county road 10 to me - east and west. Which they would be plowing through the middle of the farm. Has anyone else heard this.. that is 18 miles out of town, it just seems a little too far. But maybe not.
I suppose County Road 6 is now next to Williston with the annexation of the industrial park north of town. Still, it doesn't seem crazy to put the bypass there. Wouldn't it be much more expensive to extend it all the way to County Road 13?

I went to the meeting they had at the Ernie French Center. As of then they had not decided on where the permanent route will be. They had a map with three possibilities.
The "yellow" route started on Co. Rd 4 just west of the 4mile and continued North until it connects with Co. Rd 6. Apparently there is some problems with this as they found Teepee rings. Many also thought this was too close to town.
The "Red" route also starts on Co. Rd 4 then goes to 142nd Ave NW and connects with Co. Rd 6. Most didn't favor this one as it would need the most new roads built.
The "blue" route starts at the Trenton turnoff (143rd I think) and heading N. until it connects Co Rd 6. They also talked about different possibilities on how to connect hwy 85 with this.
Some people also asked if Co. Rd 1 had been considered.
Many people there voiced concerns that Co. Rd 6 is too close and that town was almost there already. They asked if they had looked at Co Rd 9 or the 13 mile.
I tried to load the map I received there, but my computer froze.
There is also a temporary route that will be used next summer. It starts at Co. rd 4 and weaves its way to Co. rd 6. They are anticipating 5000 trucks being on this gravel road. I'm not in favor of this for many reasons. One of them being it will be 500 ft from my front door and I do not see how the County is going to be able to maintain it.
This project is a Truck Route designation that re-aligns
51st Street NW along the north side of the
industrial park to elongate the east/west segment
and reduce grade conflicts. Improvements will be
constructed to increase pavement thickness and
increase shoulder widths throughout the remainder
of the corridor to facilitate designation as a
Truck Route. This project is intended to reduce
traffic on East Dakota Parkway. ($5,600,000)
Northwest Bypass
The Northwest Bypass is a recommended roadway
that will bypass the City of Williston and
allow traffic to flow without interference from
local traffic, as well as reduce congestion within
the City, while improving roadway safety. The
bypass will begin west of Williston at the intersecion
of Highway 85 and Highway 2 and extend
north and east to a point north of Williston at the
intersection of Highway 2 and County Highway
7. Funding for this project will require considerable
coordination and collaboration between the
Federal, State, and Local agencies. ($33,000,000)

The current plan for a truck bypass begins at what is known as the Four Mile Corner. The bypass would continue north along County Road 4 and 141st Avenue Northwest before taking a curve at 55th Street Northwest.
From there it would connect to County Road 7 and 140th Avenue Northwest before coming to County Road 6 and 57th Street Northwest. On the east side of Williston, the bypass would follow County Road 9 then County 6, until intersecting with the current U.S. Highway 2 north of town.--
Good question. I'm curious to know the plans as well.
Thanks for asking!

Has anyone heard or know what plans have been made for the Truck Bypass. What County roads they will be using? If anyone knows, I would appreaciate hearing about it. Thanks.
