Ridding mosquitos from this planet is going to require some teamwork Willistonites, and I have a plan, but it is going to require teamwork from everyone in town and around the country. We really don't have any noticeable mosquitoes here in Oregon except at Crater Lake, which is probably why so many people form MN relocate here.
If you don't mind losing some specific wildflowers that depend on mosquitoes to pollinate them, here is what we need to do. Female mosquitoes need blood for one purpose, to produce eggs (there's an amino acid in blood that the mosquitoes need to produce eggs, and actually that amino acid is somewhat deficient in human blood, so mosquitos should want to target an animal anyway. Humans just happen to be more numerous). Each female mosquito can produce up to ~130 eggs with blood. Without blood, a female can only make a couple of eggs.
We don't need DEET, we don't need the Air Force, we don't need mosquito rapture. Here is your task: You must swat and kill roughly 130 mosquitos for every one that makes off with your blood. Everybody is to do this the rest of their life. Teach your friends and children, and have your children teach their children. After 30 generations or so (a mere 100,000 years), evolutionary adaptation should take hold and WALLAH! ... no more mosquitoes, or atleast no more mosquitoes seeking out humans.

I saw a report that the water was going to be to deep and cold this year for those critters to thrive. It is my understanding that mosquitoes can not read though.
I did assist in the elimination of hundreds of unwanted biting insects on Friday. The drive between Fargo and Minot allowed my son and I to pass by several large - cold bodies of water (along with other motorists) and my son's SUV was well painted with the last thing to pass through their tiny minds.
