Whatever, Sigma. You went through the same program I did. The city and county parts of that class made the whole mill levy concept clear as mud.
When assessments go up the taxing entities appropriately drop their mills to keep our property taxes at a reasonable level.
The concept of property taxes gets me on a bit of a roller coaster. Keeps money local, pay the goverment for property we already own, blah blah. Why should I improve my house if it's only going to make me pay more in property taxes. All of that stuff.
And Slette, YES!!!
Just tell me you guys won't give up on it. K?

I'm not entirely clear on what "riding the mill" means. Would you please elaborate?

But....only if the city does the right thing and "rides the mill".
Well city of Williston? Are ya gonna "ride the mill"?
If the answer is no...why not? If it's because of the breaks you gave to Menards, I have a real problem with that. Any other reason why you wouldn't do the right thing?
I would really love to know. And so would the people that read this board....which is more than people realize.
