Jibslider -  Look up George Wuerthner - my sister's friend.  You guy's do what you do...Rancher's and Farmer's do what they do....I have gone around and around about this - her dog won't follow her on her runs at the farm - he comes screaming back - my dogs follow her..And yea training is important - and kid's should not be hunting without their parents.  It is truley a difference of opinion and experiences.

On the Farm, I have been chased by many skunks - many raccoons - and 1 badger  - also a very pissed mangy coyote in my barn.  Two very large coyotes, trying to get in the barn to eat the horse having a colt.  Dog's and gun's work for me.  Unless you are just doing recreational or actually trying to protect your livestock,  we will never agree.

No, him likes pepper spray.  See where that get's you running from a rabid animal and spraying behind your back.  Bit in the butt.

I've never been bit in the butt or anywhere else for that matter by a wild animal. I've discharged bear spray a total of 2 times in all of my backcountry wanderings. I believe my low close encounters are due to me using my most precise weapon... my brain.

Jib, you honestly can't admit that guns are beneficial to responsible people?

http://www.ignatius-piazza-front-sight.com/2011/04/04/front-sights-monday-blog-why-you-carry-a-loaded-gun/

this is a good example of why not only carrying but training is important...

I can't tell from the video if he had a misfire, a jam, or didn't have one in the chamber as the blog states.  But the result is unfortunate all the same.

I've been to their 4 day defensive handgun course I can say it opened my eyes to how much i had to learn.  In these situations confidence is key.

I have a few certificates for that same course, I haven't had the chance to go myself again or any of my family members, if any of you know you'd like to go or are going to vegas area soon, let me know and I'd be willing to help you out.

PM me if interested,

thanks,
