They hit my street and avenue at 12:00. I was home so I was able to move my truck. I've seen them over by the old McVay school on an off road picking up snow. This was prior to them plowing our street. They weren't on a main thoroughfare. I was curious as to why that street was getting complete snow removal and I hadn't even seen a plow yet.
At any rate, I had to throw some back on the street today when I blew snow off of my sidewalk. Had to clear the snow off of the sewer drain and clear a path for the mailman. Other than that, I'm thankful to be one of the first streets cleared this time around.

The snow plows hit our avenue sometime between 8:45 and noon today. There's still quite a bit of snow on the street so it must have been coming down a lot while they were plowing. They didn't use the gates for any driveways so the neighbors that are home right now are digging them out. They didn't scoop up any of the monstrous snow mounds that are narrowing the street to 1 1/2 lanes in spots either. I know they still use the gates because I've seen comments on the Herald thanking them for using them. I guess our area is neither worthy of timely snow removal or the convenience of not having 3 feet of snow blocking the driveway. I haven't called there myself but a coworker said they weren't answering the phone because of all of the complaints about the snow removal. Has anyone else tried calling them? My husband called after the terrible job they did last time they went through and asked for a call back but nobody ever called him. That was a few weeks ago. I wonder if any heavy equipment operators would be willing/able to work on a per incdent basis to help clear the roads since they obviously are having a terrible time hiring people. Kind of like how sheriff's offices have reserve officers that only help out when needed.
Silver lining? It's a good thing they waited to plow my streets. In hindsight there efforts would have been for not considering they would have had to come back in two weeks anyways.

I'd be surprised if they plow at all. We all know they wait until the snow is done falling before they start to plow. I jst can't believe they've taken this long after the last snowfall to get to our streets.
Stacy, just hope they drive by late in the afternoon AFTER the 6-9 inches of new snow has fallen.

Tomorrow's the day! We got an automated phone call a few minutes ago to tell us to make sure all vehicles are off the street so they can plow. Finally!
The snow plows were out on Thursday working on hauling snow from 4th Ave E. It seems they aren't going east of University. Maybe University is the city limit now.
I agree with ya, Stacy. Day number 8 is about to start still layers of snow in front and on the side of my house. After that freezing rain we had last week, I'm not sure much can be done about the road conditions other than the major traffic routes getting sanded.
Perhaps the freezing rain forced the city to get out the sand trucks and put away the plows temporarily causing snow removal to be delayed. Hopefully they'll come around soon.

I got home today and our street still isn't plowed The streets in town are terrible. 18th street is treacherous. They plowed the snow off the top and so now it's straight ice. You definitely need to drive slow around town.
I see on the city website that all streets with sidewalks to the curb will be plowed tomorrow. I'm assuming they are going to haul away the snow this time instead of covering all the sidewalks.
We're still waiting for the plows to get to our street also. I wonder how many employees and plows they have available and how many hours per day they plow. I understand that there are a lot more streets now than ever before but this in ridiculous. We don't have a boulevard either so when they come through they push all of the rock hard snow back onto our sidewalk which is then impossible to clear.

Still waiting for my street and avenue to be plowed. Wasn't the storm 5 days ago?

I think the city did a pretty great job this last time getting everything cleared out. When I got off work at 1:30 saturday morning, they were already starting to plow the roads. I have a low to the ground car, and didnt have any troubles getting around the last time either.
even with bad snow removal at least here we have most services currently...
there is warmer places but I'll bet the economy here is best in US

Welcome to Williston, Tesla. And welcome to our message board.
Not sure what the answer is either. All I know is that it took about 5 days after the last snowfall for the crew to hit our street and avenue.
Lack of people? Lack of equipment? Are they at the numbers they wish to be and don't plan to add more? Is it a money thing? Or do they simply think what they are doing is enough? I'm sure there are those that get their street plowed right away and are perfectly happy with the city and don't understand why others complain.
I used to like the snow roads...before traction control came along.
Again, welcome Tesla.

Welcome to Williston, truly. Other than the snow removal, I live on a farm, my office is in town. I just plow through it. But that is just me. Other than that I have no answer's.
