RE: Who all work in the oilfeild?

I'll start answering your questions.
Just wondering who all works in the feild, or your spouces?I do not work the oilfield, nor does my husband. Actually the oil hasnt really effected our jobs like it has many other jobs in the area.
How do you feel about Williston growing? I think williston growing is great. As long as i it is planned well. If they are correct and this is going to last a while then they need to have a plan. The city officials need to look at the layout of the city and see what we now need to do to expand, and not just housing, we need to take into consideration that if a burger king comes in where are they supose to go if we are building housing every direction out of town.
Trying to get a hotel in town just for a night away from the kids? We had a block of rooms reserved for our wedding last fall and the hotel it was at gave our rooms out to one of the big oil companies. We had to scramble to find places for  people to stay. Really crappy on the hotels part. Havent really tried to get one here lately, we usually get out of town to stay places, just to get away from it all.
Rude people? Not all of the people that I have met are rude. Many are quite nice. It is just the few who think they need to call us hicks, or backwards, and tell us how we need to change our way of thinking to how people think where they are from. I have lived in other areas of the country and if you move into a new area, you adapt to the new area, not the other way around. Hopefully people realize that Williston is a wonderful place to live and raise a family before they change Williston too much. We are bound to change, but we still need to remember the since of family and values that williston has survived on between booms for our town to prosper after this boom is gone too.
All the traffic? My biggest complaint is that they cannot drive in the snow. I dont care what they claim on the williston herald website, they dont know how to drive in the snow. If you are from texas, you have never seen the type of weather we have here. I have also noticed that people are in such a rush to get places any more. It use to take me 10 minutes to get across town, now it takes 15. 5 minutes, it isnt a big deal. But then I have lived in a city where it takes over an hour to get places in rush hour. Also, A stop light by herman oil would only help us.

Just a few questions...
How do you feel about Williston growing?
Trying to get a hotel in town just for a night away from the kids?
Rude people?
All the traffic?

I have more questins but will save them for later.

My thoughts..
Williston is growing, kinda nice in a way, but some unwanted people moving here.
Trying to get a hotel?? My wife and I wanted the jacuzzi suite and we were told they were not letting Williston residents staying in the hotel! Whats up with that?? My money is green too.
Rude people?? The best to do is ignore them.
Traffic?? HA!! Dont drive during rush hour. I try to leave the house by 7:15 to beat the traffic.

Williston is growing, prices are soring, but Im gald to live here and glad to see new faces, in a way.
