Our business is. And the Chamber is very helpful, as long as we do our Business in Good Standing. Not all people are happy with all Businesses, and they have complaint's. Given that, they are helpful.
Excellent! Thank you very much Jeremy! Very glad you could help out.
Hopefully the Chamber will be promoting the best pizza in town soon.
MomOf2, that would have been too easy. I like Jeremy's answer better anyways.

The WACC has many different things that it brings to the table for businesses in town. One is that they receive calls from people looking for certain types of businesses and products and they refer them to that business. Second, They promote the business community to others outside the region at shows, through websites, etc. Another thing they do is try and create excitement for businesses through events suck as the "Taste of the Chamber", Blast activities, Football Pools, Scandinavian Heritage Festival, and many others. They also provide a bulk stamp that all chamber members can use to have bulk mail sent out. (This is not used very much to my understanding)
One downfall of the Chamber currently is that it does not promote what they can do for businesses that are members very well. This is a major focus on the current board and our new Executive Director. You will see wonderful changes in this aspect in the near future.
You are 100% correct in asking the question because it is not clear what the benefits are for being a member. Again, like a said above, that is a major area of focus. Hopefully you will be asking the following question in the near future:
"Why is not every business in town a part of the Williston Area Chamber of Commerce".
I understand it's a place for new people to go for references...much like the visitors bureau. But what does it do for the existing businesses?
