Due to the weather, we are falling behind in our schedule. Saturday's activities will be determined on an ongoing basis as we deal with the wet conditions. If the ground is dry on Saturday, we may work on getting sprinklers installed. We could use a few people to help.
You can refer to the website for any updates on the schedule and planned activities:

We're gearing up for the last big push to complete the playground. Volunteers are needed to help during two weekends.
June 11 - 13: Community Build Weekend
(Friday to Sunday)
This is the big Community Build Weekend. Many volunteers are needed to assist with building the sandbox, moving in the synthetic wood fiber, building benches, installing the swings and more.
Friday - 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
We are seeking people to help throughout the day. You don’t need to be there the whole day and evening. Sign up for what you can.
Saturday – 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
We could use 30-40 people on throughout the day.
Sunday – 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
We have 30 people scheduled for Sunday the 13th. You can still sign up for this day.
June 19: Sod Installation
(Saturday)
We will be installing 10,000sf of sod. We can use all the help we can get.

Here's an email sent out from Jeff Zarling...please come on out this weekend and help!!
Cheers,
It’s a great day for Williston Community Builders and the Playground project. Our fundraising tally stands at $411,113 and the playground is fully funded. Now our attention turns to raising the remaining $190,000 to complete the splash pad. Thanks to all who have given of their time and finances to get us here today.
Things look great but there’s still more to do. We need help this Saturday to assemble the second teeter-totter and complete other tasks:
Saturday, May 15, 2010
1:00 p.m.
Davidson Park at the Playground
Many people needed to assemble and other projects
You can e-mail volunteer@communitybuildersnd.com or call 774-PLAY or just come and help. Keep up-to-date by checking the website for additional information on upcoming help that will be needed.

I've got fantastic news regarding the playground!! We are officially over the $400,000 mark and have the playground paid for. Now on to the splashpad!!!
I'd like to personally thank my former employer, American State Bank and Trust Co. for helping us get over that hump with a $25,000 donation. That's a personal thank you. The Community Builders, as a whole, have a bah-zillion thank you's to send out to the community.
We have lots of work left to do on the playground so please, please go to www.communtybuildersnd.com and find a way you can help out.
Cement has been poured. Needs a couple weeks to cure. Will pour rubber surfacing shortly after that. Should be ready for play by mid-June weather permitting.

Truly, there are many, many people that are to thank here. Thank Steve Kemp for bringing the idea to the initial group that got the ball rolling on the project.
The initial group that stuck with the project consist of (and forgive me if I forget someone) Jake Liudahl, myself, Darin Krueger, Jeremy Ludlum, Jeff Zarling, Kelcee Wold, Heidi Lee, Ricky Waitman, Steve Kemp, Sherri Ekblad, and several others. Those are the people that made the initial push and raised the first $120,000 roughly.
We hit a wall at that point. I've heard some in the community (actually from w/in our group) consider it more down the lines of "dropping the ball". Whatever, neither here nor there to me at this point. We're finishing what WE (the entire group beginning to end) started and that's all that really matters.
Ken Callahan and Jeff Zarling stepped up and put together a plan that is making it possible to finish the project.
There are many more who contributed to this project and deserve to be thanked very much, but I simply don't have time to list them at this point.
The build begins today...keep your eyes open for opportunities to go out and help with this awesome event!!

The playground is coming!!! Come and join us in escorting in the states single largest amount of playground equipment!! 2 large semi-trailer loads of equipment will be coming in from the north (million dollar lanes) tomorrow (Thursday, April 8th) at 4:00 PM. If you ever wondered exactly how large this really its going to be, I guarantee once you see the semi loads you'll have a much better picture. A truckload has actually already arrived so keep that in mind as the trucks come through.
Come on out and feel the excitement!!!!
ps...we need everyone to call 774-play to get on our volunteer lists for the build. We want as many people involved in our "built by the community" playground!!

Community Builders, since re-grouping last September, has raised enough funds to order the first half of the playground equipment and is now less than $10,000 from ordering the last half. Through our accounts receivable we expect to be able to send the final $125,000 check out very soon.
Start spreading the word to your friends that this playground is finally going to happen.
Some other news...
1. Community Builders is applying for the Community Sale this year...cross your fingers for us there.
2. There are now plans under way for KidsStock...this will be a fun event that gives the children of Williston a chance to showcase their talents. More info to come. Randy, do you have any young ones from your classes that would like to put on a short performance sometime around the end of March?
3. We have begun our membership drive and are also looking for a 9th board member. Becoming a member of Community Builders does not mean you are giving up your life to any specific entity. It means having an opportunity to give back to your community. We will be finding ways for people to volunteer in Williston. If one comes up that you hold near and dear to your heart, we'll hook you up. We will also continue working on "large projects" like the current playground. If your interested in any of these things or better yet, being part of the decision making, let me know right away.
I am 100% sure the kids would love to do something like that...particularly since it will be in front of their peers and parents.... get me some dates for timeline.
I am probably as excited about the stuff you guys are doing as anybody.

Actually we have earned enough to order. But enough to order means 50%. We really aren't comfortable ordering with 50% of the funds and then praying we can raise the rest by the time we build. You'll be hearing alot more from us in the very near future.
Thanks for asking!
