I do know several people that have used Deneschuk Homes out of Canada. Beautiful homes moved all in one piece. I'll check those options out as well.
Thanks again!!

Hello! Haven't been on here for quite a long time (at least posting :) Anyways.... my boyfriend's parents got their stick house built in Canada a few years ago (I think around 2 - 2 1/2 years ago). It is a great, beautiful house. But, they came across one problem that I thought you might want to know about.
When their house was finished and the Canadian Company was bringing it down, they ran in to problems because of Frost Laws and the house sat in Estevan for 3 or 4 months just waiting to be put on the foundation.
If you get one of these homes, just make sure that it gets done before or after frost laws take effect, so that you can enjoy your beautiful home :)
Just thought you might want to remember that information :) Have a great time shopping for a new home!
I would check out Westrum Lumber on the www. They are a Canadian Co that builds real stick built homes ready to move. Dave Richter has one out on the west side of town...south of Hagan. As long as the Canadian $ is down I would bet these aren't a bad deal. Check it out.
Thanks guys! 30x30 with a 15 wide by 28 long 3rd recessed stall on the end.
Price of wood has dropped recently so I'm hoping to do something like this.
Anybody have any thoughts on the bigger modular homes that have stick built appearance? Any companies better than others?

but I think you should up the size of your garage....you are only going to do this one time and if you are a typical guy....the garage is never big enough :) 24x24 isn't very big.
I would contact a few contractors, they should be able to give you a quick ballpark figure....I know its not cheap.
Beware of some local contractors, a friend just had a house build, contractors were supposed to be out months ago, now they are rushing to get things done. The work they have done wasnt professional. Contractor asked our friend, do you want it done right, or do you want it done in a hurry? I cant remember the name of the contractor, but he and one other guy are the only two that speak english, and the other guy is the interpreter.

I'm considering having a house built and I'm wondering what major items I need to budget for.
I currently have the following
Lot -- I have this price House -- I have this price Foundation -- Would like to know what to plan for on a 1700 square foot home Garage -- what would an attached 24x24 cost Driveway Hook Ups -- figuring about $7,000
I'm not currently worried about furnace or hot water or stuff like that. I know these items are probably barely scratching the surface but it's a start.
Any help on the foundation and garage would be great.
Thanks!!
