Nice Try. Normal people that are on the other side of the fence than you guys wouldn't DARE come in here!!! I agree with you..this site is FULL of Republicans and thats the way I think it will stay. Just try walking into a public place in Williston and say that you voted Obama. People come UNGLUED on you! Its crazy!!
I don't come unglued. Well...how about this then...MO2. Create a page locally, like this one, and slant it liberal....I promise I will come over there and talk also. There is a great division in this country, and the split is pretty near 50-50 on political inclination. Most people only hang with people just like themselves....why can't we get some Blue-Dog stuff going on here locally and then maybe it will snowball outside of our region.
The whole idea, to me, is civil discourse and logic. As much as I disagree with Larry Larsen in most instances, he is a catalyst for discussion. Shoot! ... a "lightning rod" is probably more descriptive, and he probably does it on purpose; it works. I have had, on several occasions, had to go out and look for the actual information that supported some of my political opinions, rather than just to say so by rote, because he was trumping my King with an Ace. I think it beats the heck out of scrabble and crossword puzzles...a good mental exercise.
Most liberal sites I have looked at, are much worse in their attack content, which is of course, 180 degrees in the other direction.
At least on this site, when someone goes into an attack mode, Steve, or one of the other posters tends to simmer it down. You don't see that on most liberal sites. When in doubt....shout....seems to be their philosophy.

Actually, I'm sure there are people out there who would love to have a place to voice their opinions, but this site isn't easy to find. I tried everything in the search engines that I could think of and then finally asked in the Herald guestbook.

I think we all know, that this page is predominantly right leaning. I don't have the actual statistics, but would guess it is probably 90% or better conservative.
Undoubtedly, many people of all persuasions read the page, but few post. (Steve, can you tell us ball park numbers of hits, and posts, etc for the page?)
We need more input from the other side (or the middle). Even though few of us post, many are impacted, at least from an educational perspective.
As a martial arts instructor, I have to talk about stuff like the concept of yin-yang or um yang (as the koreans call it). It is about the need for opposites to be included in the whole. If you took a circle (a complete concept) and took away half of it, it would be incomplete. If you took away the masculine, then there would be no such a thing as feminine. If you took away the light, then there would only be dark, so the idea of light would cease to exist. If you took away good, then there would only be evil, so the idea of goodness would not exist. You have to have both sides for completeness, and then it becomes a matter of choice....deep, huh?
so....we gotta have liberals or we have nothing... :o)

This page is good brain exercise, or at least a place for us to go when we have nothing better to do.
