So true I agree ND - now call the White House and tell them.  I have voted both ways and still do.. esp in ND with Dorgan and Hoeven Pomeroy..Just because Dorgan does have a little pull for ND.   But I voted for Hoeven too.  I hate voting straight ticket..  I always think both parties need to work together and they just won't.  But Dorgan does agree with Estate Taxes.. I wrote him about it , he wrote me back.  Did not agree with his letter.  He also wants big tax on Capitol Gains.  Both would have wiped  me and my sister's out - so we would have had to sell Dad's Farm to pay for that.  And the Vultchers (sp) all keep hanging around. I am tired of it and Obama just does not get it. I thought Dorgan did - apparently not.

But ND, what about the old adage that those who don't know history are forever condemned to repeat it?

I agree we shouldn't be blaming anyone but don't we need to look back and try to recognize what caused the problem, in which case is going to be the actions of one party or both, in order to correct it?  No?  devilish.gifbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

The big black homeless dog came back..  And the Horse (that is not mine) is ready to foal in the middle of this windy cold weather..  SKM since your outta your mind - it's your turn to go check the mare.   Happy Sunday - and soon Happy Spring all.biggrin

PS Jib - President Obama is fighting within his own party with Pelosi and Reed..  Quite frankly, I think Pop Up Pelosi - feels she is in charge - and  is pulling Reed by the earlobe...President Obama's agenda is going nowhere.  You can no more defend him to me than you could attack President Bush... My son sent me all the articles and books from Oregon...   I am leaving him my portfolio in my will.biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Ear marks...........are they really a dirty word? A friend at the capital building sent me a link awhile back to watch two bridges in Bismarck being blown up on a youtube video. Watching them made me wonder how we financed the new bridges. Ear marks, perhaps? I don't know.

I know that the Term "Ear Marks" has a very negative connotation and that some of them have been absolutely ridiculous...like the road to nowhere, bridge to nowhere, highway through a swamp that goes nowhere, etc. But..........Is it possible that most of the projects done with ear mark money were necessary infrastructure projects that produced good jobs at the same time? I believe that the news has exploited a few wasteful spending projects to the point where, what is normally a good thing, has become a dirty word.

I will agree that the way in which these things come about is bad. It looks as if they wait for a bill that they know will pass, and then hide an earmark somewhere in the fine print even though it has absolutely nothing to do with content of the bill itself. There has to be a more honest way to get those projects financed than that.

On the jobs bill, I don't really think that you can call them "ear marks" with the same "growl". If they are jobs producing projects that improve infrustructure that is badly in need of replacement, then don't they belong on the jobs bill? That was the whole purpose of the bill.

Three words.... Line-Item  Veto!   ;o)

Next I would like to say thank you to Jib. If I had gotten on here sooner I would have put the numbers up myself. I appreciate that.

Bohdan, SKM doesn't discriminate.  We all get a little fired up at times with her.  I was actually happy to see she had a nemesis. biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Did you forget about September 11, 2001?

... obviously this was before the Iraq war started.

Yeah, I had assumed your numbers were post 9/11 so I didn't think I needed to say anything.

Funny, I've been asking those critical of the Bush Admin the same question. wink

Bohdan....welcome....are you prepared to support your rhetoric with facts?  And are you sure President Obama is trying to fix anything, or is he pursuing his conceptual socialist leaning vision and using the previous administration as a pretext, pray tell? Either way, good to see someone posting from another perspective.

Bush/Cheney are not the 2 biggest terrorists the world has seen. I'm sure 6 million Jewish people and 11 million Russians would argue that there have been far more evil leaders than the Bush/Cheney monster.

I mean this is ALL the Bush/Cheney has been able to accomplish in Iraq:

4,200 American soldiers dead
150,000 Iraqi citizens dead
9,000 Iraqi security forces dead
318 armed forces of other counties dead
1,300 contractors dead
200 journalists dead

Surely Bush/Cheney are not terrorists, just merely "pre-terrorists".

Well... let's see, President Obama thus far is focusing most of his energy on securing the economy and health care. These are issues that are taking place INSIDE the borders of our country and affect virtually everyone. His team is focusing on securing your banks, your portfolio, your retirement, your access to affordable health care...

What was President Bush focusing on for the past 3 or 4 years within the borders of YOUR country? Was he protecting flood/hurricane victims? Was he insuring YOUR banking industry wasn't running a muck? Was he insuring YOUR US auto industry was up to par?

Or was he sending YOUR brothers and sisters to another country to die for fabricated or unknown reasons?

Obama's title should read, "United States President and Janitor". He has a lot of cleaning up to do.

Is she out of her mind, or does she just have a different opinion than you do.

I've never seen people so passionate about the presidency. This doesn't seem to be our normal two party system....it looks more like it is seriously deviding the country.

Welcome to the board, Bohdan.  Everyone is entitled to their opinion here.  I'm relatively loose as a moderator.  But I don't think you'll get too many responses to your posts without substance.

You can start out by answering how increasing deficit spending 2 or 3 fold is going to help.

Question number 2.  Why are you calling out SKM alone when I have criticized this admin's spending as well?

Again, welcome to the board.

ps...can you please back up your "biggest terrorists the world has ever seen" statement?
