Sorry Jib, I don't understand MDU either. Maybe they trying to get all into Bismarck - Dickinson area. Can only hope Williston Puts pressure on them. It is bad enough when we are doing a job and MDU started charging us 50 to 60 dollars to take the meter off and then again to put the meter on. I just don't know.
My father has been a service man at MDU in Williston for 20+ years. He had been contimplating with retirement for the past 3 years, but receently decided he would not retire and continue to work because he loves his job so much. As of a week ago, he was forced into taking an early retirement due to the changes at MDU. My father refuses to move to Minot... thank God.
MDU is an enormous company with subsidiarys all across the western US. I have no idea what is going on over there, but it is sad to see that the next round of service based closures was Williston. I remember when they closed the offices in Stanley and Watford City back when I was in high school.

MDU cutting services and personnel. I find this so sad. Is there anything that we can do, as customers, to protest this? Where on earth would anyone buy a gas range, or get one fixed?
I sit here wondering if they can't afford to pay the utilities on their building???? What's the deal here? Are they doing this due to cost overruns or are they just planning to pocket more profit?
Cutting non-oilfield jobs is NOT a good thing for our area. We need all the diversity we can get.
My heart goes out to the MDU employees waiting to hear which ones will be cut. What a hard thing for them!
