I feel bad for the minimum maintenance road couple too. I think everyone feels for them.
So often I hear people who live in town say....."we'd love to have a place in the country". I don't think that most people realize just how tough that can be.
It would be really nice if, every night while we are sleeping, some hiway dept came by and dug us out, BUT, can you imagine the cost? I feel bad that these people got out there and didn't realize that country people own big expensive tractors, and if they work in town every morning, they are up at 5 or 6 to dig themselves out every day so they can get there.
Our tax money can only go so far. I keep reading comments from people who wonder where their tax dollars are going. I know what I paid for real estate taxes and when I consider that the county hiway dept got way less then half of that and the township only got 7% of it, that won't buy much! Maybe 2 trips with a snow plow and a popcycle!
We won't probably get out tomorrow. The Horse is actually not mine just helping someone out. He said I feed her to much. My other horses are fighting thru this winter. Anyway I have to keep checking on her as he does not believe she is pregnant. Oh well.. That's the way it goes. She is getting ready - I am watching her and have a safe halfway warm spot. This is all I can do for now.I love baby animals - I just cannot gauge this one.
We live on a Main County road. My husband has pulled neighbors out and plowed an opening for us and the neighbors to get out. So even the Main County Roads have been in tough shape. I can't imagine living on a Minimum cty road. For us we watch over our neighbors as they do us. And if the County Maintainer plows our road I guess that's a plus. Never do I rely on the City or County for anything. They only aggravate you.
