RE: Politics - Can they ever be discussed without Anger.

That debate was great.  But what the heck is this "change" that Obama keeps talking about.  Change is a big word and can mean many, many things.  He reminds me of Kerry and his "we have a plan".  He never did say what the "plan" was.  Same with Obama and his "change".  Obama is a socialist in sheeps clothing.  That is the "change" he wants.  From capitalist to socialism. Plain and simple.  Next think he'll want is for the US to stop backing Israel.  LOOK at his track record.  And when his wife, Michelle, said that she's has never been proud of the US until her hubby won the primary made me sick!   I will never back Obama.  I don't agree with his politics at all.

Well my son lives in Oregon....different views and politics there,,I told him to tell me if I could donate his portion of my will to his person of choice... I am not one to push my views down someones throat - I just vote for the best I can, who is the very best for the time... by the way he doesn't want me to donate for him. But he has his views. and I have mine.. but depending on where you live..some people do not want you to have your own views. Oh well have it in my own family... always told him to Think for Himself... Bless his Heart. He just doesn't vote right. j/k

Our whole family pretty much agree on most issues... well except for one person.  I wonder if that one person reads this message board. smile.gif  I'll soon find out.

It seems that very rarely can people talk about politics without letting other influences judge their statements.

Mr. Larson, has the "I speak, you listen" mindset.

It's time for him to figure out that he's not in class anymore and if he feels we are obligated to his opinion, he must learn to understand that those opinions will not always go without someone calling him out.

I must have missed something.  Has Mr. Larsen been posting his "infinite wisdom" on the Herald again?

While Mr. Larsen and I are diametrically opposed on just about every issue, I totally respect his right to be wrong.  The problem I continually have, is that he insists on posting on the Herald Guest Book as if he were still teaching high school kids classes, and that if he says it is so, it must be a Divine Revelation, and he does not encourage,  and will not allow his "students" to respond in kind.  He is, and always has been, radically left-leaning.  I think that it is unfair of him not to have a give and take, if he wants to go there.

I have been chastized by a few people for picking on an old retired teacher, but if Mr. Larsen has enough wherewithal to stay on top of the issues as he appears to, and if he continues to post his version of USA today, then he should be prepared to be questioned as to the veracity of his statements.

So far he refuses.  The primary up-side of this is that at least we are talking about issues, even if it is in a sort of left-handed way.

Dont confuse anger with passion.   I find it personaly stupid of Larry Larson to to post his views on the Hearld and then to turn around and say he doesnt want a debate.  I think the only reason he leaves those posts is to debate.  Thank God that Randy Waitman can go toe to toe with him, and give Larry a run for his money. smile
