RE: 9/11 Forever to Remember

Getting ready for work - saw the first plane - was shocked - clear view - 2nd plane hit - Just fell to the floor..cried...went to work - could not quit crying..Things in America Changed..  I looked at the babies in our family...and cried..hopelessness and total fear for their lives.  We absolutely need total strong leaders and not just good speakers.

The first thing out of everyone's mouths today at work was to share your "where were you" story about 9/11. Thanks for the thread.

I was sitting in the living room brushing my daughter's hair for kindergarten, watching the Today Show when I saw them report on the first tower being hit. Having no comprehension, I just kept thinking its a terrible accident. I sent her off to school to walk by herself and when I closed the door, the second tower is hit and I saw it live, they say we are under attack etc. I immediately open the door and  frantically scream at her to come back. I watched her come skipping back, big happy skips, like the world isn't going to be changed forever, and she enters the living room and sees me crying and I am panicking. I am so riveted by images and every word the big black box is saying makes me even more scared and I didn't want her to go to school. I just sit there for ten maybe twenty minutes with her watching the TV in silence and she gets it, she gets what is happening and she starts to ask a lot of questions, questions I don't have answers too. I decide to get up and get my younger son and I dressed and we walked her to school, still not knowing what was going on. I watched TV all day and into the night, sucking up every piece of news, every image and every sad story all the while my mind being blown to bits.

Of all the memorable events I have experienced in my lifetime, this is the one that has had the most effect in my life and hope there is never another more powerful.

Thanks for that reflection, Brandy.

Always keep in mind though that this particular event was not only because of the government at the current time, but was a result also of governments past.  Perhaps the book covers this (hopefully) but in case it doesn't it is something to keep in mind.

Regardless, it is important to take time to reflect and pray for all those affected by the events that took place September 11th, 2001.

Thanks again, Brandy.

Steve

Today is a day we who were old enough to remember that Horrible day, will remember that day forever, what we were doing, where we were at....etc. Today we should all say a prayer for those who were lost on that terrible day and say thanks for those who risked thier lives to save others and were lucky enough to live....

I remember it was a Tuesday morning and my mother called me to tell me to turn on my TV.  I had a friend flying that day....spent half of the morning trying to find out where she was...I went to class only to find out it was cancelled due to the day's circumstances....went to work that evening only to watch the TV nonstop....

This last weekend I got caught up watching programs on TV remembering the days events....7 years already?.....wow!  I also dug out the commission report I purchased 2 years later and remembered how is seems so unfathomable that ALL these things could go wrong, and the protocol of the days events were so OFF ALL ON THE SAME DAY!  Its an interesting book to read, I recommend it to anyone who really wants to know what happened that day (of coarse it is written by the government) but the horror of so many things that never should of happened that day or were done wrong by the government, just from that book is AMAZING!

This day is about remembering.....as if ANYONE could forget!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!
