I remember driving down Hwy 50 up by McGregor and Powers Lake as a teenager seeing sailo after sailo. Growing up there were always these rumors about how ND has the highest density of nukes in the world, and how the Soviets listed Minot as one of their top 5 targets during the cold war, etc.

I remember Larry Larsen telling us there was an H-bomb armed in one of those sailos between McGregor & Minot. I was always more than skeptical of that information, but it did make me think.

I find that hard to believe when the Gov. was thiking about moving the whole city due to flooding, and just leaving those nukes there!! Yet again I Call the BS flag!! I maybe wrong!!! I am most the time...but you cant blame a girl for hope. smile

Pretty sure they are not IN the tiny town of Powers Lake. Just driving between Stanley and Minot you can see a couple from the highway if you look. And I am quite sure the government is not going to give the public a map of all the missle sites located around that area (Stanley, Powers Lake, Tagus,...etc)! That would probably not be a good idea. Guess you will just have to keep your eyes open while driving to see them.

If you have downloaded Google earth, there are quite a few of them marked around that area.

Most of those little yellow dots are the missle silos, and thats just in the area of Minot.

And SKM says liberals are morons! LOL

And Steve, Im not yelling!  just telling it the way I see it.   I have a right to my opinion and exclamation points.  If not, boot my arse off of here. Won't be the first or last time I express my opinon and I get omitted for it.   smilesmilesmile

I only said that because you post so early in the morning.  I don't care what punctuation you use.  You do have the right and this is NOT the Herald guestbook so there's no omittance....for the most part.biggrin

"what exactly are you looking for that's lacking in the candidates?"

How about a candidate that has a positive track record of fiscal responsibility without raising taxes?  That would be a good start.  And someone with a proven record of dealing with illegal aliens in a humane but stearn capacity.  And someone that the US citizens can trust to keep dictators from countries like Iran and Korea at bay without giving them everything they ask for...well, ok, maybe McCain can do that....maybe.

I could go on.  But I'm more curious of the track records of the two that are currently in the running.  Can anyone, without google or asking Jimmylikesvikes biggrin, tell me what either of these guys have done as a Senator?

SKM (and others), since you think there is no good candidate for the upcoming presidential election I was curious just what exactly you are looking for in a candidate? What are you looking to gain nationally in our new figurehead... what are you looking to gain locally for the state of ND in our new figurehead?

Anyone can complain (Willistonites are well seasoned at the task), but what exactly are you looking for that's lacking in the candidates?

I have my choice, but I do feel that any change from the current administration will be quite refreshing, even cleansing for our nation.

an tell me....WHY is McCain so much better !?!?  If you ask me, we don't have a decent candidate to vote for.    And just my opinion here, but when she came to your door and asked who your voting for, you should have stuck with "A".  Its non of her damn business.  And your right.....its not.   Thats why we have "secret" (if you wanna call it that) voting polls to go to.  Its nobody's business but your own who you will vote for.
