wow!! Didn't know that there was even one built!! Who is Virgil Syverson? I'm also glad that skate park was built!!! Harmon Park was nothing but a druggie hang out anyway!!! I love to be stopped at light and watching those talented kids!!! Wow!! Talk about talent!! You all should just stop and watch them someday!! The skatepark is a wonderful dynamic to our town!!
If Harmon Park was the "diamond of Williston" before the skatepark was built, it's now the Hope Diamond or the Crown Jewel of Williston WITH the addition of the skatepark.

Hello everyone. I dont write on this thing very often, if at all, but I do pay attention to whats going on in Williston. I like to get straight to the point of what I am talking about so here goes.
I read in the Herald yesterday about the Virgil Syverson Memorial. It was a great picture and I'm glad for all the attention it's getting. I think it's a great thing and well deserved. However, I find it quite interesting that there were so many people involved in the process of getting it built and the fact that there was no opposition to the location in Harmon Park, " the Diamond of Williston", as it was referred to when talking about the Skate Park. Its funny to me how not one person or "committie" has an issue with this like all the drama that was involved with the Skate Park. The Skate Park was referred to as a "concrete bunker" before it was even built and nobody wanted that in front of their house or in their park. Reality check, the memorial is a concrete bunker! Williston is a growing communtiy. A YOUNGER generation is moving back to Williston and in order to keep this place growing we need to have places like the skate park.
A lot of people will say that I have a biased opinion, they can think what they want. I fully supported my father in everything he stood up for. He is one of the few in this town who does something without trying to prosper from it. Facts are facts, when you disagree or argue with something, the same rules apply for both sides of the fence.
I have a few words to describe how I feel about some of the people involved with the Virgil Syverson Memorial and how they were opposed to the Skate Park because they had their own agenda on how they thought Harmon Park should be.
