RE: Fox News broadcasting from an oil drilling rig 4/16/08

I have to agree!  Geeze, you want to discredit FOXNEWS... what more do the Libs need?   They have ALL but one news channel. They also have Oprah, Ellen, The View (all those beloved talk shows) not to mention the rest of Hollyweird, and we have Fox NEWS who is frankly Fair and Balanced. smile

Did someone say, "Without being subjected to Fox News?"  Such a declaration would imply that a particular viewer had no choice for information except for one channel, and one channel only.  So then, if a viewer has Fox News on the menu, they very likely have also CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC, and other news sources readily at hand.  Joseph Goebels would never have allowed such diversity of choices.  There would have been one channel, and one channel only.  The way things look to me right now, it would be very much like CNN, if Goebels was still in charge of propaganda, if Germany had won the war.  Thank our veterans for their efforts in preventing that from happening.

Texas and then Cali are one and  two and we'll never catch them.  But Louisiana is number 3 and soon we could pass them on that list.

Steve,  ok so is our oil pushing ahead Louisiana or are they falling back into the 3 largest in the nation?  Do you know know who is 1st and 2nd place?  I'm thinking California and Texas but I really have no idea. smile

That really sucks!!!  Here I am standing out at Nabors Well Service by their rig waiting for Fox News, the wind blowing a million miles an hour, in my nice leather jacket and nice Rockports.....AND NO FOX NEWS!!!!  Whats the deal Ramsey!!!???  STANLY!!??  STANLEY??!!

biggrin

Actually, the part about me standing out at Nabors by their rig is true. biggrin  Except the reason I was there was because the Leadership Williston group was learning about the rigs.  Very awesome stuff!!!  I learned A LOT about the oil activity around here and all over the world.  There's a chance that we could push Louisiana to be the third biggest oil producing state in the nation soon.  Along with the talk of getting highway 85 two more lanes we may have a better chance of an oil refinery coming to the region as well.

Good stuff Williston!!!

They just had it on (1:25 pm CT). They broadcasted Live from a Nabors rig near Stanley.

OK, let's clear this up.

1) Lute-ish = Bad    (I married into a Norwegian family and have to deal with the smell every Christmas day!)

2) Fox = Good   (C'mon man.... what's not to like about "fair and balanced" smile.gif )

3) Oil Drilling Show = Great  (I just wish I knew what time it was on)

No norske blood either, just a liflelong immersion in the culture, did you know you can acquire a taste for Lutefisk?
Two history lessons contained in the postings so far, one a clue to identity. Have fun with that my fellow posters.
I am very impressed with the lack of vitriole and animosity coontained in these discussions. We do not traditionally accept different perspectives gracefully in these parts. What is happening on this board implies a bit of listening to each other, and in listening comes solutions. Yahoo!

I have always heard that lutefisk was good....haven't been able to get close enough to it, to actually find out....the smell is just too much.

But Welcome anyway!

Randy...my post was directed to Kingfish....I never figured you were or were not shilling for Fox, as you said, just putting it out there...fair and balanced....was just trying to get a rise out of Kingfish...in a nice way. I am so happy people are posting 'cause is can only be a good thing for the community....even when posts are often redundant and asinine...

Smells like DEMOCRAT to me.....

It is supposed to be today, 4/16/08 and the Nabors guy says he is under the impression they will be doing live broadcasts every hour. Right now Fox news has a live special on the Pope in the U.S., and it is to be on until 11:00am. I am not even going to watch the channel until then....

If I learn more, I will pass it along...I am home painting, and have the tv on....

FYI...I have it on good Author-it-eye (ala south park) that Fox News, the national Fox News (channel 24 on Midcontinent) will be at a Nabors drilling site somewhere in the Bakken formation, and are supposed to be doing live reports every hour. They are doing a report on the recent Bakken survey, and oil in the U.S.

I am not sure what time they are coming on...so if you are interested in seeing it and have a TV you can leave on....
