I hear ya, Gaylen.  Whenever I hear the "it's the media's fault" argument my first thoughts are, but it was the parents that raised these kids, or didn't raise them however you want to look at it.

But there is some truth in the fact that the media creates thoughts/fantasies for some of the lost souls in the country and these souls who don't live in our reality don't think there are circumstances to these crimes.  The media is trying to help by making these kids look like criminals but there are too many people that think they are invinceable and truly believe they can get away with this stuff.  So they sit in front of the news, prolly not on purpose, and see something like this and "POP" the idea enters their mind and the next thing you know, we have another Youtube.

Really???...The media is what's wrong with kids today? It has nothing to do with the lack of attention they recieve at home? We should put a stop to televising the news then. The news should be pay-per-view only.

What do all 12 year olds want... attention. Don't be surprised to see more of these fights popping up just like school shootings have. These kids are instantly celebrities on Youtube AND the top stories on all news sources... Fox, CNN, MSNBC, etc.

The media needs to stop giving these kids the attention and 15 minutes of fame they are seeking, but the only problem is that the American public eats these stories up.

 I seen on Fox NEWS (yes Fox NEWS!) That the beating of that young girl in Florida was copied by 12 year olds in Boston.  From what I gather, this young girl was lured to an empty lot and beaten while others stood by with cell phones to get the vidio. It was posted on YouTube only 1 hour after the assult!  It makes me wonder what 12 year olds have to physically fight about? AND, who the hell is video taping this and instead of stoping it!!  What's next!?  Riots in the 2nd grade class rooms!?  I don't know about you all, but it makes me want to keep my kids home where they're safe FOREVER!

I saw that article about the little girl getting beaten with a remote.  And it wasnt the first time that that woman's boyfriend had beaten the little girl.  Her mom should go to prison as well as the guy that actually did it to her.

Maybe... but where in the hell are the parents? Who's watching these "Kids."??? Yes! They're in high school and they don't need a babysitter. ( They abviously do.) I have no point. Just questions. How can all 8 of these kids think that this was a good idea??? I wonder how many of these girls get that treatment or have seen that kind of treatment in their own home? Chalk another one up for the "Upbringing."

My initial post on this thread was pertaining to the little girl that was beaten with a video game remote. She ended up dying from the injuries. Sad. What is wrong with kids these days? How in the world do they think that the things that they do are good choices?

UGH.  I just watched that video.  I certainly hope those kids dont get out of serving some hard time.

 Thank you Expo!!!  When I read that I flicked the channel to Fox NEWS right away!!  All 8 are being charged as adults!!  YES!!!  They're looking at 5 years.

I just saw on Fox news that they will be tried as "Adults".  Maybe the prosecutors are going to take this seriously.

Why did this continue to happen to this little girl? It wasn't the first time she had been abused. Man I am glad I never became a cop. If I happened to witness something this horrific. I'd have a hard time NOT pulling the trigger on a worthless individual as this piece of garbage is. I hope he gets his where he is going. People that do these horrible things should never, ever see the light of day again. STEAMING!
