Conrad at the library today 1pm. He was here a year ago. Now we have tighter banking restrictions which tie the hands of developers. How is he going to help? Just another listening session?

This is kind of a late response since our trip occured 1.5 months ago, but what happened to the Mysic Blend? Another victim to lack of employees?

My family enjoyed going there when we were all in town, and in my opinion it was an excellent edition to the commercial section of Main.

Are there any upcoming events in Williston for mid next week?

I'll be in town with my wife and I'd like to show her more than just the sad Wal-Mart. You can only go to Trapper's Kettle so many times.

The Western Star Optimists will be holding a gift wrapping fund raiser on Saturday from 1 until 6 at Balco Uniform Shop downtown Williston. Drop your gifts off and let us wrap them for you while you spend time enjoying downtown Williston.

We'd also very much appreciate all of you if you could let your friends and family know about the fund raiser as well.

Thanks everyone and Happy Holidays!!

The Western Star Optimist Club will be hosting a bar-b-que the evening of July 17th for potential new members.  We have some great plans for our young people in Williston but we need more people to help bring these plans to life.

The final details of this evening will be posted after July 2nd.

I recommend the MDH trail to everyone I ride (mountain bike) with out here in Oregon. The MDH is awesome, and it showcases some of ND's more interesting landscapes. I used to come back every summer to ride the MDH with some buddies that live in Fargo and GF, but haven't had a chance to get back in a few years.

If you are going to go the best advice I can give anyone is to make sure to bring an ample supply of water and DO NOT ride the trail after a recent rain (learned that lesson the hard way). Give the guys at Dakota Cyclery in Medora a call too to find out about trail conditions and routes around the parks (if on a cycle).

In other words... GO DO IT!!!!smile

I agree, it is only a "Perceived lack of things to do"

High School Baseball Game Tonight.  Coyotes are having a great season, com out and see them.

Playing on Jeremy's theme of "the perceived lack of things to do" I have a couple of things to do:
1) Legion Park - great place to hike, my kids are still talking about how they climbed the mountains and had a great time.
2) River Bottoms - The river bottoms are another great place to hike, except this time through the forest (yes forest) and we even built a fort out of fallen branches and twigs.  Heck, bring a GPS and maybe create a GPS Geocaching hunt (http://www.geocaching.com/faq/).
3) Maah Daah Hey Trail, Medora to North Unit - I don't have any personal experience on this trail but by all accounts it is pretty amazing.
4) Camping - We have a ton of camping spots not least of which is Lewis and Clark State Park - a family friendly campground that even has wireless internet for those of you who need your fix even when camping.

Bottom line is that we are literally surrounded by a million things to do, you just need to get out and do them, and most of them can be done without spending a whole lot of cash.

Rock to the Future

This topic will eventually merge into the "Upcoming Events" thread but for now I'm going to promote it to ask for volunteer help.

A group from Leadership Williston is putting together something called Rock to the Future that is to coincide with the Blast from the Past.  The intention is to provide a night of fun filled activities in a location that is distant from the adult agenda that takes place downtown.

They are in need of volunteers and donations to make this inaugural event a huge success.  If you would like more information contact me and I'll put you in touch with right people.

ps...I've seen the things they have planned for this evening and it is looking like an absolute blast!!!  Your time spent helping will most definitely be worth it!!!

Does anyone know if the Jaycees are doing their annual "Sandbox Fill"? If so, when? and..... how do I get my name on the list?

Thanks.

Every once in a while I here people complain about not having much to do in Williston.

Well, this weekend Boys Baseball and The Rivers Edge is hosting and exciting family event.

Illusionist and Hypnotist

The Illusionist's name is Reza, his website is http://magicreza.com/

THe Hynotist's name is Sailesh, his website is http://www.sailesh.ca/about.htm

Both seem to be outstanding performers.

You may have seen Sailesh at the Rivers Edge.  I have heard that he does a pretty racy show there, hilarious but racy.  The show he does at the Raymond Center will be family oriented.

Saturday APril 19th, Show starts at 7:00.  Burger and Brat Feed (Free will donation) starting at 5:00.  At the Raymond Center.

TIckets will be available the night of the show.

Jake Liudahl and I are co-chairs.  Otherwise everyone is on.  We have broken down into committees for this project however.  There's approximately 44 people on this committee at this point.
