Heather and I have been looking through the reunion packet.  We went through our Senior year annual and jotted the names of all the people who live in Williston that might be willing to pitch in and also those out of town that want to pitch in.
Several of us are getting together on Saturday this weekend to get going.  Some good ideas forming already.  Anyone else interested let me know right away.

Hi Steve and everyone else!

I started a class of 89 group on facebook....if we can get emails we can invite people to that group and on there we can do all of our discussing.  I think an online dicussion is a great idea as the # of classmates still living there is minimal to the # of classmates willing to help out from afar; Me being one of them.

I also think that most of us living away from Williston will agree that we DO NOT expect you locals to do everything except for obviously physically booking venues etc. there.

Come on over to the facebook group, and if there are people you have emails for invite them to join facebook and we can get discussing.  I think it's funny I've talked to more classmates in the last 2 weeks that I've been on facebook than I have in 20 years.  It's been fun!

Sorry, Shawna.  I wasn't able to do it this past weekend.  I truly appreciate your willingness to help out.  I also grabbed the reunion kit.  Should be fairly helpful as far as setting up a database for mailings and stuff like that.

I think we should plan a time to get as many people as we can think of to attend an online "whiteboard" meeting and we can perhaps gather some ideas that way.  I'm going to jot down the names of as many people as I can think of here in Williston from our class and attempt to contact them.  The more we can get to help the merrier.

Thanks again, Shawna for even making the effort to try and get this going.  Glad to know we'll have help.

Just wanted to let you know I ran into Del Easton in Mystic Blend when I was there last weekend.  He said he has a packet, which I am assuming the one that James Bervig has, and he said he also has a list of classmates who are registered thru the Coyote Foundation, which he is still a huge participant in.

He said we're falling behind on planning and to contact him and he can get us started.

Sorry I tried this past weekend but it didn't seem to work out for anyone else.
I won't be home till May, but I will help out as much as I can from this far away.

lol...if it is they had me in mind when they wrote it.

If you work on it this week and want me to help, you'll have to come to Washington, DC.  I'll be back Friday night though.

Is there a possiblity of meeting up at the end of this week?  I'll be in Williston on Thursday, Friday and Saturday!  I'd be happy to start the process if needed.  I'm willing to do as much as I can from Missoula.  Maybe we could meet at least settle on a tentative agenda and start checking out places and things to do.

I got on some face book pages today, including yours Steve, and invited some of them to meet up whenever the marjority could get together this week.

What exactly is in a reunion kit....is it called "Planning a Reunion for Dummys"

James Bervig has the reunion kit.  I've been trying to get together with him to get this started but he's extremely busy these days.

Are you kidding?! I'm truly sorry for traumatizing your lives for so long that you had to post messages about me. I hope now that you're close to 40 you can move on with your lives. Sounds like you did well anyway and have loving families of your own. I shouldn't even be on your site since I'm class of '88...

I would be willing to help some but I'm not sure what I could do living in Bismarck.  I'll be in Williston the weekend of November 14-16 but I will be pretty busy since it's my dad's 80th birthday-yes, he is a bit on the old side!

I actually just saw Joan (Altenburg) and Shane Tangedahl last week at Wal-Mart.  They don't live in Bismarck-they live in southwest ND.

The class of '88 has a really nice website by the way.

Hey All! I'm gonna dig this up again and see if anyone knows if there is any planning activity going to get our 20 year reunion planned?

I'm going to be in Williston the 16-19 and I was wondering if anyone is interested in getting together a committee to start finding classmates and perhaps setting up an agenda/calendar for the reunion?

Maybe some of the locals could talk to each other and pick a time/date/location that may work for the majority.

I really would hate to get behind the 8 ball on this and it is ALMOST 1/2 way thru October!

Looking forward to some feedback!!!!!

I hated Jr High and my first two years of high school for this reason!  I for sure made some bad choices (stinkin rotten older boys) but being bullied was by far the worst part of my life.  Candy Christofferson and Heather Kadlub were always after me and it was frightening to say the least.  I always was appreciative of my friend Shayla for sure!!  And Desiree covered my butt more than once too!!

Awwww, Shawna....I feel your pain.  Marie used to scare the hell out of me too!  Then I just stood up to her one day and the rest is history.  She really is a very nice person.  My biggest "bully" was Charlene Pachico (sp).  OMG, that girl hated me and she finally caught me after school one day.  So we squared off and I just nailed her a good one and chipped her tooth.  She never got a punch in. LOL.  Felt good and still does to this day.  Having someone bully you changes a person.  I became defensive towards everybody. I was never going to go through that again and I didn't want any of my friends to go through it. When I think back to those days the song "Bad Reputation" by Joan Jett comes to mind. smile

Yes Steve. Kirchmeier can bring up every bad thing that anyone of us did at any given time. He's a freak like that. Able to absorb mass quantities of useless information. I don't even like him. Sad thing is. I don't think I have any dirt on him...oh wait. He DID tip over their mini-van out on cnty road 9 with Tyler Jacobson and I as trusting passengers. What an ass. The speedometer would run backwards when he would drive in reverse. So I told him to get the needle to the 95 mph mark. (We did end up going prolly 10 to 15 mph IN REVERSE on a muddy road in a frick---en mini-van.) NIIIIICE! The family tuckster got a lil bit squirrly and all I remember was looking at the ditch from the front passenger side and bracing myself so I wouldn't put my arm through the window when we fell. Then when we landed, Kirchmeier kicked me in the head about 5 times trying to climb out of his window. Good times. Good times.  Fun was had by all.

Speaking of beating people up, etc. Chris' sister Marie....ya well I think I'm STILL afraid of her.  I remember in Jr. High she HATED me and Sandy Adolf and she used to follow us up to 7 Eleven on our lunch hours.  Her and her posse'...she never touched us but she would walk on our heels knowing how scared sh$tless we were!  Angela Bratcher I think was one of her posse' back then.  NOT SO GOOD TIMES!!! hahahahaha!!!!  I think that might be when I developed a very valuable friendship with Deserae Duvall!!

LOL!!!  I never beat up Andy Wilder!!! That's sooo funny!!!  You kept that stuff!?  I actually got a belly laugh outta that.

The Andy thing, in my "grown up" perspective, was pretty much me being a jerk (imagine that).  This was in jr high.  Andy didn't like what I was saying so he punched me, I told him to punch me again so he did, this happened a couple more times and I ended up slapping him and knocking his glasses to the bottom row (if I recall we were at the second to the top row in the Jr. High pit).  Eventually I picked up his glasses and apologized.

I think about that every now and then and feel bad about acting the way I did.  Guess I still didn't quite get it when we were seniors.

Funny, I met up with Chris Kirchmeier in Denver a couple weeks ago and we reflected on more of my stupid teenager behavior.  Kirchmeier has always seemed to be able to put things in the right perspective (always admired him for having that ability) and let me off the hook for those days of being a butt hole.

It's funny how a person can look back on stuff like that after having children and wonder what the #e!! ever made us do such stupid stuff.

Anyways, I can't believe I ever wanted to marry Robin Givens.  I always thought it was Christy Brinkley that I was going live happily ever after with.  wink Remember the impromptu speech Wade and I gave? biggrin

I did develop a small taste for boxing and ended up getting a heavy bag.  I've been beating that thing up for 24 years now.  They don't call them "Everlast" for nothing. smile.gif

Thanks for sharing that, Vicki!  You should try and remember to bring that kinda stuff to our reunion next summer!  Might be an event we can include in the weekend.

Speaking of Kraft's class, Steve, one of our assignments was to
interview someone and write their obit and I had the honor to write yours. I found that paper the other day digging thru an old box. Apparently you beat up Andy Wilder (in elementary or jr high) and got the taste of boxing in your blood, became a famous boxer and went on to marry Robin Givens. It was quite entertaining and Kraft thought it was A+ quality. biggrin

Again, we are not talking about why I even have these things after all these years!!!

I haven't been to that site in a long while since I dont' pay for the extra, but they tease you all the time that someone signed your guestbook, but you can't see it unless you have the gold membership.  Anyway, I got an email about a month ago from the association that did the alumni book last year, quite a few people are listed on that, and I do think you need to pay for that, but not sure the price, seemed like there was a lot of people on that one too.  I have that on my home computer, and will let you guys in on that shortly.  They had message boards and reunion boards.  I'll do some more checking into that...

classmates.com is allowing a little more activity without having to pay to interact with others. Does anyone think this is a venue for getting some classmates found for the reunion?

Last I had heard she was on her way to Mayo Clinic.  Tricia Arnson is good friends with her and was with her often while she was in the hospital in Williston.  I will try to get her on here to update us.

She is TRYING to get donations put together for a raffle.  Not sure where she's at with it as of today.

Any more news on Christy? Her and her family are in my thoughts.

I had a blast one night with Christy, we both told our parents we were staying over night at each others houses so we could be out all night.  It was a good plan in theory, we didn't know our fathers knew each other. BUSTED!

Hey all...just wanted to give ya all an up date on Christy Grove.  She's going through treatments for her cancer but, last I heard it progressing fast and she's in a lot of pain.  I'd love to get something together to raise money for her treatments and bills but I don't know how to go about doing something like that.  If someone is willing to take the reigns I'm here to help no matter what!  Just let me know!

RE:  Mrs Kraft.  I have a good story to tell.  She wasnt my favorite teacher, Mr Larson was.  We had an assignment once that we had to write limericks down and bring them back to class.  Well, I was pressed for time and just looked up limerick in the dictionary and found an example.  I just used the example as my limerick.  One day after school Mrs. Kraft called me and I believe it was Lori Enno (sorry if I am wrong Lori) and Mrs. Kraft asked us both why we had the exact same limerick written down.  We both looked at each other and I thought OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ****TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!  She caught us.  I felt about 2 inches high after that and had to face her the rest of the year.  That is a silly reason not to like a teacher, but thats my story!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like our summer trip has change of dates. We thought we'd be home over the 4th but now it looks like we aren't coming till around the 14th.  But as we get closer I"ll just touch base with everyone.  Hell if anything we'll just get together anyway and have a few and reflect on the good ol' times!!!!

Meeting in williston with other classmates this July to get things started is a great idea.  I plan on taking in some of the 88 reunion.  Not that it is that far for me to get there, but I don't get there as often as I would like to. You guys pick date and time, and I will be there, we can have a mini-reunion this year and try to do some planning for next year. Willing to do what I can!

Hi Nicole!

I haven't seen you for a long time.  My roommate from college taught in Wildrose for six years-Wendy Larsen-she's in Kenmare now.

Anyway I live in Bismarck and am also a stay-at-home mom and former teacher.  I plan on subbing when my youngest starts school.  I'm married and have four kids-two boys and two girls ages, 11, 9, 6, and 3.

It's good to hear from you!

Hi Nicole, Hey thanks for the comment!

Keith and I are living in Lolo, MT which is 8 miles out of Missoula.  We have been here 11 years this June.  Hard to believe.  I am the accountant for 3 companies that work out of one office as well as Managing one of those companies ,Montana Party Time (www.montanapartytime.com).  We rent out event rental equipment like tents, tables, chairs, china, glassware etc.  I'm pretty much an event planner, but I don't offer on site services at the actual event. Weddings and such are my forte'.

Keith and I have 3 kids..Bryce is going to be 15 in November (Ron Dahl is his dad) and then Keith and I have Emry who is 4 in July and Elyza is going to be 5 months here soon.  We have a very busy life for sure keeping up with the kids.

Looking forward to seeing everyone this summer; hoping to maybe get together at some point if we can to start collaborating efforts on our reunion so it's not just the "hometowners" having to do everything.

Hi everyone! It's Nicole Horn.

Shawna, you look great! Where are you living now? I was teaching elementary school, but have been staying home with our kids since May 2002. My husband, Paul and I live NW of Wildrose on a ranch and have 3 children. Sophie is 6, Sam is 6 and Maren is 3. Paul's great grandpa homesteaded this place. Then, his grandpa and grandma lived here. His parents live on another place 2 miles from us. It is very nice!

I'd love to hear from all you 89ers!!

Take care, Nicole (Horn) Burtman

Hi Shawna!

There's A LOT of people from the class I haven't seen since graduation!

I do see Sarah (Thue) Carlson once and awhile around town-mostly at the grocery store.

I saw your nephew Jason at my brother's wedding in Wisconsin last September.  He hasn't changed at all!  His little boy Peter sure is a cutie.

There are a ton of us that have moved back so I don't think finding people to help plan our reunion will be a problem.  I'm all for getting together over the 4th.  If some of you are willing to put a pre-reunion get-together in place for the 4th, I'll be glad to put some extra time into the actual reunion planning.

Uh Oh, I'm starting to get a bit giddy about next summer.  Is it too early for that? smile.gif

Hi Nancy, you would be another one I bet I haven't seen since we graduated!   Great to hear from you!

I just got an email from Heather (Lee) Rossland.  Her and Davey are planning on coming next summer to the 20year and is going to get on the site as soon as she can.  She said she talked to Sandy (Adolf) too and they are planning on making the trek as well from Fargo.

I don't know if it's worth discussion or not, but I know we are planning on coming home in July over the 4th and maybe anyone else that is coming home as well could meet up with all the hometowners and we could just start some dialogue and maybe start forming a committee.  One year seems a long time away but I think we've got some work to do to get things rolling.  I obviously can't head it up since I don't live there but I would do whatever I could from Missoula.

This is a great way to connect with long lost classmates.  I think I'm like the others in saying too that I cannot believe that our 20 year reunion is a year away!!  I didn't make it to the ten year one since I had a two year old and a newborn and we had just moved to Brookings, SD which was a bit too far to drive with a newborn but I'm looking forward to attending this one.

Great to see some new "older" faces on here!  I mean not OLD cuz we are by no means old, but from that past.....Vicki I don't know that I've seen you since the day we graduated.  And Misti I come back to Williston to visit 2x year and I don't think I've ever seen you....apparently we weren't in Walmart at the same time cuz that's where I can go to see just about everyone!  And holy crap you have an 18 year old! Ugh! Bryce will be 15 in November, that's scary enough for me.  Let's see isn't Anne Hanson (Jodie and Cory's) she must be almost 20 by now and TammyMcLeod,  her son Sky Blue must be 20 too!!

Looking forward to some more faces poppin' up on here!  I've emailed Sandy Adolf (vettel), Jule Eder (Sundlad) and Heather Lee (Rossland) trying to get them on here.

oh my goodness.......20 years.......I am so glad I have aged gracefully.  I haven't changed a whole lot......still shy and quiet.  I am married to a wonderful guy Joe Flory.....and I have 2 wonderful children.   Cody is 18 and Dalton is 10 years old.  I work at Tri County Glass and have for the last 9 years as the bookkeeper/office manager.  My wonderful hottie husband is a mechanic and has worked at Williston Tire Center for 15 years.  Unfortunately for me neither of my children were able to become athletes.  I try to attend WHS sports events every chance I can.  I have sorta adopted Morgan Axelson as my son and enjoyed cheering him on to a 6th place at state for wrestling in the 130lb class.  I also just cheered on my nephew Trevor Thomte and his awesome Divide County Maroons at Districts last week......can't wait for Regionals right Michelle T!!!!  Go MAROONS!  I keep in touch with lots of my classmates.......Vicki like all the time........alot of the Willistonites and I try to keep in touch with my classmates from Crosby too.  Don't forget.......I left for a year or so and went to school up north.........I love class B!  I am an avid Nascar fan and racing fan in general.  My brother in law races, my husband is racing, and soon my son Dalton will be behind the wheel.......scary scary scary.....although they say he drives better than me and he doesn't even have a license yet.       Anyway that about sums it up for me......Great to read everything posted by all of you......keep typing........Misti (Thompson) Flory

Michelle,
Good to hear from you! I can't believe your son is going to be 16! More so I guess, I can't believe we are almost up and over the hill!

And the shy thing...seriously....totally shy vs. the grown up me. Plus, looks who's shadow I was....hahaha...it was hard to out do Misti back then biggrin..and maybe even today!

I still keep in touch with Sue, Misti and Candy "kinda regular" too.
